I saw it a few hours ago, and it’s still sinking in to a certain extent, but I felt disappointed, and to be honest (and this is going to make me enemies here…) a big part of that was the Joker. Certainly, there’s a lot of bias in that for me - any time I read Joker dialogue, Mark Hamill’s voice echoes in my ears - but the character Heath Ledger was playing never FELT like the Joker to me, regardless of the performance’s quality in and of itself.
Whereas in the first movie, they changed a LOT about Ra’s (even down to the apparent absence of a Talia), Liam Neeson’s character still “felt” like Ra’s al-Ghul. Here… nope. Two-Face, yeah; Joker, no.
